A little bit of Life

Well, as always, another busy weekend. On Friday night I attended my work’s annual anniversary banquet. I was pleasantly surprised to hear the President of the Board use a speech I had prepared (last-minute!) for her opening welcome and annual review. The evening included several beautiful and entertaining cultural dances, songs and presentations.

I’m not sure what happened to Saturday; although I do recall lots of house cleaning going on. Anyway, on Sunday we took the girls on our annual apple picking outing. With a promise of perfect weather, we ventured on a tractor ride, picked bags of apples and played in the hay. Loads of fun! Of course we had to stop by the Dairy Freeze for an end-of-summer ice cream treat.

Our new pooch has been keeping us entertained; however, I can’t say the cats are pleased. Lacey sits by the cat door (leading to the basement, where the cats are hiding), stocking and waiting patiently for them to make an appearance. On the few occasions Bo-Bo dared to venture into the kitchen it has not gone well. If Bo-Bo makes any sudden movement, Lacey chases in pursuit. We need the Dog Whisperer to guide us. “Stay clam and assertive and be the pack leader!” He makes it look so easy…
